I've spent the last few months photographing young ladies who will be celebrating their first holy communion. My little sidekick likes to sit next to me while I edit, especially while she's completing her required twenty minutes of reading a night for school. Occasionally she would look up from her book to compliment the girl's dress or veil or rosary beads on my computer screen, wondering when she'll be able to celebrate this special sacrament too.

When parents were invited to one of the final faith formation classes for the school year to help students make their own rosary, I wasn't surprised when I saw her holding her new beads in this way... just as she had seen the older girls she admired. I love the contrast of this lifestyle moment using Sophia's crafted rosary set in comparison to the formal images I have been capturing.
