In two weeks I'll be heading to Puerto Rico for a weekend of photographing the musicians my grandfather knew, especially the person who is leaving his mark on this genre of music. Ramon and I have had regular video chats since November to plan our shooting schedule and weekend of activities. -- All so that I can get to know and photograph the people who considered my grandfather a mentor, a friend and someone who they aspire to be.
In what was likely our last call before we finally meet face-to-face, Ramon was in rehearsal and said, "Want to hear a piece your grandpa composed?"
It was such a spontaneous moment, I didn't have any time to think of a better way to capture it other than these 10 awkward and amazing seconds.
